  • Served as a AmeriCorps member with College Possible Oregon in 2021
  • Wrote curriculum for Reed College Science Outreach, used in over 25 fifth grade classrooms in the Portland area

Celia graduated from Reed College with a Bachelors of the Arts in Environmental Science with focus on biology. During her years at Reed she worked with Reed’s science outreach program to bring engaging, hands-on science lessons to elementary students in the Portland area. As a summer intern she redeveloped the program's curriculum, writing lessons to promote critical thought and skills-based learning, which all centered around the climate crisis.

Science education remains a great passion of hers and she is quick to tell you all about the learning opportunities offered by the structure of the scientific method which teaches us to question, observe, and experiment. A great scaffold for teaching critical thought and creativity in any discipline!

After graduation Celia served as a college coach to high school students in her role as an AmeriCorps member with College Possible Oregon. Celia supported students as they made important decisions about their future, inspiring them to dream big and aim high.

Celia currently lives in Valencia, Spain, where she is transforming her balcony into a greenhouse for her ever growing plant collection. She is also known for making the fullest use of Europe's rail system to visit as many historic sites as possible.
